Job Description
The Tax Director will be in charge of all tax matters for a high net worth family in Connecticut. Daily responsibilities include:
*Coordinating and preparing each family membersВ’ individual income tax return, the partnerships income tax return, the families trusts and foundation returns, and reviewing work of the outside accountants
*Handling all tax controversy matters, including IRS audits and state audits
*Daily accounting functions including general ledger and journal entries, as well as creating P&L and balance sheets for the managing member of the partnership
*Coordinating all aspects of the individual partners planning including: investments, tax planning, trust and estate planning, retirement planning, insurance coverage, and financial arrangements
*Maintaining the financial management and day-to-day operation of family properties
*Developing financial reporting processes for quarterly partnership meetings
*Maintaining oversight of project management for all real estate properties
*Performing legal research and analysis
Required Skills
*10+ years of public accounting or family office experience, a plus
*CPA license, a plus
*Polished and articulate professional
