With an amazing list of clients for you to tap into, they are keen to talk to those with an interest in specialising in this field. Whilst Insurance VAT and/or IPT experience would be handy, it’s by no means essential, as they can train you up in the relevant specialist areas. There are also likely to be opportunities to work more broadly in the FS VAT space. You are either going to be in consultancy (perhaps doing a more broad based FS VAT consultancy role currently) or else in industry or HMRC. You’ll need good client facing skills, the ability to pick up new concepts quickly, be an excellent team player, and a genuine enthusiasm for providing a great client service experience.
