You will report to the Global Mobility Manager and Group Employment Tax Manager with responsibility for supporting the execution of the Group's global mobility policies and processes globally for over 100 assignees. On a day to day basis you will ensure that the business remains compliance to immigration, income tax, and social security legislation, and that assignees receive 'best in class' assignment experience. If you are currently working in expatriate tax for a Big 4 or Tier A firm, then this would be your ideal first move in-house.
The Role
The key objectives of the role are:
Determining, in conjunction with Divisional HR, an individual's assignment category within the Group Policy framework, and preparing the individual's assignment documentation.
Preparing individual assignment cost estimates and ensure correct authorisation of assignments.
Providing technical support on all aspects of international assignments, as appropriate, referring individual assignment documentation to the Global Mobility Manager (GMM) for approval.
Ensuring consistency of approach within policy guidelines and escalate any policy exceptions to the GMM.
Working closely with Divisional HR and line contacts (UK and Global) as well as service providers to initiate relocation and destination services.
Managing the day-to-day case management of the expatriate population including dealing with ad-hoc queries.
Managing the collation and distribution of global compensation and benefit data for tax purposes and responds to questions from advisers.
Providing the key point of contact for international payroll in the UK, including the UK Modified Payroll.
Maintaining assignee database and individual files, ensuring adequate planning and tracking of critical events e.g. salary review, incentive payments, extensions, repatriation etc.
Coordinating the annual salary review process for international assignees globally; calculate updates to Hypotax, Cost of Living etc. for individual assignments.
Reviewing the social security position for individual assignments and ensure relevant Certificates of Coverage are obtained (including applications from the UK).
Ensuring the arrangement of necessary work permits and visas, liaising with professional advisers, as required. Providing relevant and practical advice to the business.
Managing Business Visitor compliance globally and advising the business on potential exposures.
Assisting with the refinement and development of Group policies and processes at global and regional levels in conjunction with GMM.
Providing relevant and practical advice to the business on general Global Mobility issues and highlight specific compliance issues
Assisting Employment Tax Manager with projects as required.
