This role is to assist the Group Corporate Tax Manager in controlling and managing the Corporation Tax affairs of this financial services firm.
Responsibilities
*Timely and accurate submission of Corporation Tax returns for the group.
*Completion and review of Corporation Tax provisions for Group Reporting.
*Group tax consolidation.
*Completion of tax disclosure notes for the accounts.
*Control of the tax charge through the development and operation of tax models for business planning and forecasting.
*Controlling Corporation Tax compliance with HMRC.
*Identification of planning opportunities where targeted advice can facilitate compliance and optimise the tax position of the group.
*Identification and implementation of tax compliance and reporting process improvements.
*Line management of staff.
Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours
*Detailed knowledge and understanding of Corporation Tax especially in the following areas; group tax reporting ;business planning and forecasting; and Capital Gains tax.
*Excellent analysis and problem solving skills.
*Good verbal and written communication.
*Proven ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
*Flexibility in approach and the ability to work under own initiative.
*A logical and organised approach to work.
*Attention to detail.
*Some training and performance management experience would be desirable.
*Computer literate with particular experience of Microsoft Excel.
Experience and Qualifications
*Fully qualified (or qualified by experience) in a relevant profession.
*Relevant experience of statutory accounting and reporting.
